CHES Media Center
Mission Statement
The mission of the Douglas County School Library Media Program is to support the county curriculum, to provide quality print and electronic resources, to assist students and staff in becoming effective users of information, and to promote lifelong learning.
Media Center Policies
1. Students may check out books for two weeks. Students who fail to return library books on time will not be allowed to check out others until overdue books are returned. Overdue notices are sent every four weeks.
2. If a student loses a library book, he or she will be charged a book replacement amount. If the book is returned undamaged in the same school year, the money will be refunded.
3. If books are damaged, the charges will be in proportion to the extent of the damage. If damaged beyond repair, full price is charged. Students will not be able to check out until damage cost is paid.
4. Students are required to have a library card for check out. The first library card is given to the student free of charge. There will be a replacement fee off $3.00 for lost cards. Students will be on limited check-out until their lost card is replaced.
