I am so proud to be Douglas County Elementary Teacher of the Year!
This is my 24th year in education. I have taught 5th grade for 6 years and the rest has been in kindergarten. I truly love my job and it has been a blessing to me! I am a Douglas County native and graduated from Lithia Springs High School. I graduated from Mercer University in 1998 with a Bachelors of Education. I graduated from Piedmont College in 2008 with a Masters in Elementary Education. I am obtained my Specialist in Elementary Education at the University of West GA in December 2020!
I have 2 wonderful daughters. Lauren is almost 29 and Sarah Grace is 20. I have the most perfect granddaughter in the world, Maven Elias Riel!
My motto is: "Love them first, teach them second!"
I think that children learn best when they are loved!
