CHHS Senior to Perform in “The Nutcracker” at the Fox Theatre
Chapel Hill High School senior Addison Minor will take the stage at Atlanta’s Fox Theatre this Christmas, performing as a Snow Maiden in the 2025 production of The Nutcracker. She will appear on December 23 and 24 as part of the fifth anniversary celebration of the beloved holiday classic presented by Namari Dance Center.
Minor, a classically trained ballerina, earned the role after auditioning alongside more than 70 talented dancers from across the region.
She said she was thrilled to be cast, describing the Snow Maidens as snowflakes brought to life.
“In this winter-wonderland show, the snowflakes are personified as maidens—elegant, ethereal, and delicate,” Minor said. “They represent a dreamlike, magical part of nature, but also a fairytale.”
Minor began dancing competitively at age 2 and now trains with the Douglasville School of Dance. Her dedication to her craft is matched by her involvement in several other activities. She has modeled for Dillard’s during prom season and is a fourth-year cadet in the CHHS JROTC program, where she has set her sights on attending flight school after graduation. In addition, she has participated as a majorette, competed on the Lady Panthers basketball team, and excelled in track and field.
CHHS Principal Dr. Melisha Plummer praised Minor’s achievements both on and off the stage.
“I am extraordinarily proud of Addison!” Plummer said. “To achieve a role in The Nutcracker while maintaining her multiple commitments here at Chapel Hill is a true testament to the amazing young woman she is. We celebrate her success as she embodies what it means to ‘Be Excellent on Purpose’ in every arena. We can’t wait to see her perform!”
Tickets for The Nutcracker featuring Minor are available through the Fox Theatre website.
